Here are some August events happening in and around Baltimore. Go out and support our Orioles or visit a farmers’ market. All of that and more is happening this month in our town.
Maryland State Fair

You know the summer is almost over when it’s time for the state fair. The Maryland State Fair is a wonderful family event no matter what your age is. There are rides for small and big kids. If you don’t like the rides, you can see the animals. The 4-H has lots of animals on display as well as the large farm animals in the Cow Palace. And the food! Who doesn’t love fair food?! The fair always has lots of entertainment, including concerts. This year’s headliners are Hailstorm and Sabrina Carpenter.

$5 5K, Family Fun Field Day

Baltimore City Recreation & Parks runs many events including the 2017 $5 5k Series. “Now in its second year, the series has grown to nine city-wide 5K events taking place in Baltimore City parks. Get your family, friends, co-workers and fellow park enthusiasts to participate April through December. Runners and walkers alike will enjoy fresh air, community engagement, fitness and fun. ALL proceeds for the $5 5k series goes towards city-wide park programming.”

Come to downtown Towson and listen to live music all summer long with a bar with featuring a variety of beers, wine, and cocktails along with a moon bounce and face painting. A favorite band each week.

Baltimore Farmers’ Market & Bazaar

Under the overpass at the end of the JFX is where you will find Baltimore most well known farmers’ market. You name it, you can find it here: fresh produce, baked goods, food vendors, meat, eggs and even jewelry. It’s a family friendly place on Sunday mornings downtown.

The soaring, scoring Baltimore Birds are back in town for their 25th season at Oriole Park at Camden Yards. Home games in August include: August 1-2 vs. Royals, August 3-6 vs. Tigers, August 18-20 vs. Angels, August 21-23 vs. Athletics, August 28-30 vs. Mariners and August 31-September 3 vs. Blue Jays. Some of the games have give-aways.
