I have created a printable PDF file with some handy phone numbers and spaces where you can add your own doctor’s number or other important phone numbers you might need for your family and pets.

As you embark upon what is usually the largest purchase of your life, it is important to have an idea of what you want before you meet with a realtor. Two people, and sometimes more if you include the kids, have to come up with on what an ideal house is for you.

Make a list of “must haves” for your new home. Talk about it with your significant other and figure out what you must have in your home. Make a list and put the must haves in one column and the “wants” in another.

Leaves are almost finished falling and the holiday rush is on the way. Make time to remove those leaves! Doing so will help avoid a period of problems in the future. Last minute pruning is fine as well, especially before Christmas lights are strung.

When you put your home on the market, there are a lot of dos and don’ts to follow. It is a difficult task, but you have to look at your home objectively. Make it look desirable to someone else – this is important if you want to sell.

Do:

Clean, clean and clean some more! The cleaner your home looks and smells, the better off you will be. Pet odors take attention away from the good stuff in your home. Try your best to keep litter boxes fresh, fish tank water clear and muddy paw prints off the floor. Pet fur on furniture and rugs is another turn off.

Get rid of clutter. If possible, remove up to half of everything on shelves and in closets. You now have loads of storage space. You can probably get rid of a lot of things you don’t use anyway...

The way the economy bounces up and down, wouldn’t it be fantastic to have one less payment? Paying off your home would be ideal. By using one or more of these simple plans, you could have your house paid off a few months or a few years ahead of schedule.

A really easy plan is to round up. If your payment is $543 and you pay $550, you can end up with fewer payments in the long run. As you pay extra each month, you are paying more toward the principal which results in a few less payments at end of the loan.

Another way is to pay biweekly instead of monthly payments. This works really well if you get paid biweekly. You will end up paying one extra month’s payment each year. The same as when you round up, you are paying more toward the principal and therefore you pay it off faster...
