If the sight of the mercury creeping upward fills you with spring fever, we’re with you. We, too, are restless for the toastier and longer days that are just around the corner.

Clean the gutters

Remove leaves, pine needles, and other debris that have accumulated over the winter so your gutter system is ready to handle spring showers. Overflowing gutters and blocked downspouts can damage siding and foundations.

Clean the AC condenser

Remove dust and debris that have accumulated on the AC condenser (the big metal box outside your house) so that the AC works efficiently.

Clean the siding

Get rid of dirt and grime that can cause mildew and shorten the life of your siding...

Think like a buyer when you are selling your home. You have to force yourself to look at it objectively with no emotional attachment. It’s difficult to do because most of us are emotionally attached.

Think about what you need to do as far as curb appeal, cleaning, decluttering and painting to give you home a fresh look. Minimize the bad points and maximize the good points. You don’t have to spend a lot of money, just do some little things to make it shine.

April events in the Baltimore area

Here are some April events happening in and around Baltimore to start this new year right. Get out to support the O’s or visit a farmers’ market. All of that and more is happening this month in our town.

Baltimore Farmers’ Market & Bazaar

Under the overpass at the end of the JFX is where you will find Baltimore most well known farmers’ market. You name it, you can find it here: fresh produce, baked goods, food vendors, meat, eggs and even jewelry. It’s a family friendly place on Sunday mornings downtown.

The outside of your home makes people either want to see more or run the other way.

As the saying goes, you only have one chance to make a first impression. the same goes for your home. Cracked sidewalks, hanging gutters and sports equipment littering the yard are things that will take away from your home’s curb appeal.

Step back and look at your house objectively, including all the way to the roof. When house photos are taken for website, make sure the yard is clean with no kids’ gear on the porch. Put everything away. Instead of bikes, consider adding a colorful Adirondack chair or a rocker for the front porch.

People need to be able to find you. Clean and easy to read numbers on your house is a good start...

MAY IS A BUSY MONTH IN THE GARDEN

Lawns have most likely been growing for a few weeks now.  If you despise crabgrass (as many avid gardeners do) this is the time to help prevent it with a turf friendly crabgrass pre-emergent.  Crabgrass germinates when soil temperatures are 54 degrees or higher…..don’t miss out!!
