There haven’t been many events to post lately because of Covid-19, but there are some events that are happening on a limited basis. Thanks to the Fire Museum of Maryland for this guest blog about their annual Motor Muster.
Fire Museum of Maryland’s Annual Motor Muster
Summer has drawn to a close and the Museum has now returned to our winter schedule. Open every Saturday 10 am – 4 pm. Our annual Honoring our Heroes Motor Muster is coming up on Saturday, September 12, from 10 am – 3 pm. The Muster is outdoors in our front parking lot. Although it will be a bit smaller than usual, visitors will still see our mighty motorized apparatus, and thrill to the sight of water shooting high in the air. Keep scrolling down for a preview look at the exciting new addition to our Muster lineup this year! Admission to the Fire Museum is FREE on September 12! Please continue to observe social distancing both in and outside the building. Masks required inside the museum. |
The Fire Museum has added a new and important engine to our collection. A 1913 Ahrens-Fox ‘Continental’ Model A. It was one of only 47 ever built and is the last remaining one in the world.
You will get the chance to see it for yourself as we put it on display during the Motor Muster. Don’t miss it!
Fall is a great time to visit the Fire Museum. We’re offering fire engine rides every Saturday at 11:30 am (weather permitting) all season long.
Ride are $5 per person. Kids under 2 free. Family-only birthday rides are also available. Email Amy at alandsman@firemuseummd.org for information.
Coming soon…
In addition – Save the date for Lantern Night is Saturday, October 24 from 6 pm – 8 pm. It’s a family-friendly night of fun as we turn down the lights and light lanterns and candles on our historic apparatus. Come in costume and admission is half-price.
